What Your Tarot Card Says About You: According To Your Zodiac Sign

Astrology will always be my first love, but Tarot comes in a near second. It is such a wonderful divination tool, and there is so much one can learn from the cards. Whenever anything pressing comes up in my life, I turn to the cards to give me advice.

The Tarot is an intuitive form of divination that can help us prepare for the good and the bad that might be ahead of us. And of course, one of the most popular uses for the Tarot is to give sound advice when it comes to love.

The Tarot can help us all to navigate our love life and figure out where we need to go to get the results we are looking for. It can help us make sense of a situation when we are feeling confused or misdirected.

The Tarot dates back to the 14th or 15th century and is expected to once have been a card game people used to enjoy. The origins of the cards haven’t always been so spiritual but rather, used more as a tool for storytelling.

Since then, it has evolved into a rather popular divination technique, and even world-renowned psychoanalyst, Carl Jung saw its benefit to represent the archetypes of every human story.

Most Tarot decks have 78 cards, divided into the Major and Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards which are grouped into four different suits, namely the cups, swords, wands, and pentacles.

The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards representing the full journey of a person’s life and the cycles each of us needs to go through and complete.

Did you know that the Tarot is quite connected to Astrology, and each Zodiac sign has a Major Arcana card connected to it? This card can actually color in what your Zodiac sign represents and give you a better understanding of who you are, and what energy you are working with.

Knowing who you are and what makes you so special is a powerful tool to have in your arsenal. This can only help you succeed and understand what makes you tick in your life. By knowing who you are can give you greater power in attracting love into your life.

Are you ready to find out which card represents your Zodiac sign and what you can learn from this card about yourself and your love life? Then continue reading, I am sure you will find this information rather fascinating!

Aries: The Emperor

Aries in Astrology represents leadership and authority. Someone who is a go-getter and knows what they want in their life. Nothing can stop Aries once they decide to pursue something or someone.

And The Emperor card is much the same. The Emperor is all about having power, being a leader, and taking action. There is tremendous willpower that both Aries and The Emperor have at their disposal.

When it comes to both these archetypes, you can tell that they take no-nonsense and like being in control of everything in their life, including romance! They take action, and aren’t shy to go for the person they want.

These people are often attracted to power and passion and want a love that feels exhilarating. This card also represents stability, commitment, and loyalty in love. Someone who will put love first.

Aries, if you’re ever feeling down or like you don’t know where to go, then tap into this energy and remind yourself that you are in control. So, take charge because you have so much power available to you!

Taurus: The Hierophant

Taurus is probably the Zodiac sign most concerned with longevity, commitment, stability, and security. As a Taurus, you really appreciate consistency and tend to be an extremely reliable individual. People know that you will be there for them, but you expect this to be reciprocated in your relationships.

And it makes sense that The Hierophant would be connected to Taurus because this card represents traditions and dependable structures. The Hierophant is represented by a spiritual leader, like a pope conducting an official ceremony, and there is nothing a Taurus enjoys more than declaring something as official.

Both these energies represent hard work and dedication to the things they love. This energy is committed and unwavering, wanting to build and create a strong pillar for them and their community to depend on.

The need for commitment in love is only amplified by the energy represented by The Hierophant. It wants a solid, stable and official kind of love. A Taurus really enjoys the idea of marriage, and if you pull The Hierophant card in a love reading, it is often a good omen for marriage in the future.

Gemini: The Lovers

This card is probably the most coveted when it comes to a Tarot Love reading. Who wouldn’t want to see The Lovers? After all, it is such a good omen when it comes to love and relationships.

But this card is more related to the essence of Gemini than you might first realize. Geminis are known for their curiosity and interest in knowledge and discovery. As a Gemini, you are probably really fond of experimentation and experience.

And that is what The Lovers tarot card is truly about; duality and seeing a situation from two different perspectives. And that is what relationship really represents. The coming together of two energies and finding a way to make them in sync.

The Lovers are often also represented by having to make a decision, and this is often the case when it comes to love. We have to wake up and decide that we are ready and open to receiving love, and let go of any limiting beliefs holding us back.

I see The Lovers as well as Gemini as holding quite a strong yin and yang energy and that the true magic really happens when you can find the balance. And that there are two sides to every story, and we need to be open to another perspective, especially when it comes to love.

Cancer: The Chariot

Cancer is one of the Cardinal signs in the Zodiac. A Cardinal sign is a sign that is all about action and initiating when everyone else is too afraid to make a move. Cancers are also known for being fiercely protective of the things they love and will go out of their way to keep whatever they hold dear safe.

The Chariot is the card that represents change and forward motion. It isn’t the most obvious card to be connected to the sign of Cancer, because one really associates emotions and feelings with this sign, but if you look at it closely it really starts to make sense.

The sign of Cancer is also represented by the Moon, and the Moon is always in flux and extremely changeable. The Chariot is the card that represents needing to adapt in order to move forward to reach victory.

When it comes to the love life of a Cancer, the Chariot is there to encourage Cancer to be bold and not to fear change. It shows the need to be communicative and honest in relationships and that sometimes sacrifices need to be made in love and relationships.

Leo: The Strength Card

Leo is one of the most courageous and bold signs in the Zodiac, but being brave enough to live with courage takes a lot of strength. The Strength card is all about overcoming difficulties, living with confidence, and knowing how to tame the beast within.

The connection between this card and the Zodiac sign is quite obvious, I mean, who can miss the lion in most illustrative depictions of The Strength card? This card is beautiful and shows the resilience and determination found in most Leos.

When it comes to love with Leos and the strength card, it shows the willingness we need to have to truly open our hearts and be brave enough in order to love and be loved. Both Leo and the Strength card can be quite prideful and it can be hard to put our egos away when matters of the heart are involved.

The Strength card should be seen as a reminder to be brave and patient with the person you are in a relationship with. Love is about looking beyond the flaws, and truly accepting ourselves as well as our partners.

Love takes a lot of bravery and strength.

Virgo: The Hermit

Virgo is often overlooked as one of the most spiritual signs in the Zodiac because they tend to be so practical, pragmatic, and all about routine. But spirituality is quite tied into ritual and consistency, which is such an important aspect of a spiritual journey.

The Hermit card is the definition of quieting down and getting to know the inner you through retreat and isolation. The Hermit is a card that signifies an important time in your life where you can really get to know yourself, and what exactly your desires are in life.

Virgo’s often need time away from others to quiet their mind, and to really get to the core of themselves. Their alone time can be seen as a self-care practice, and self-care is so important when it comes to love and relationships.

You need to know who you are to be able to open yourself up to love, and you cannot do that if you don’t spend time on your own in reflection. This is a reminder to make space for yourself in your relationships and don’t just give and give to others. You also need to give for yourself.

Libra: The Justice Card

Libra is the sign most concerned with harmony and balance, if something feels skew or amiss, then Libra tends to want to fix it and bring it back to order. This sign is very concerned with acting fairly.

One of the symbols associated with Libra is the scales, so it makes perfect sense that the Justice tarot card would be the card associated with Libra. Everything needs to be above board and out of integrity with both the Justice card and with Libra.

This is an extremely valuable sentiment when it comes to love and relationships. In love, we need compromise and fairness, and the energy of Libra and the Justice card reminds us to love with integrity and honesty.

Relationships can make us really aware of what is right and what is wrong and to notice the things we find valuable in a union. This can serve as our moral compass to treat the people we love with as much respect as possible.

Scorpio: The Death Card

The sign of Scorpio is often seen as a sign that is quite dark and mysterious. There is something really sexy and alluring about a Scorpio, but this sign is also extremely spiritual and transformative.

Much like the sign of Scorpio, the Death card is so often related to a time of endings, transformations, and rebirth. The Death tarot card has some really negative connotations to it, but all it is really doing is showing us that we are on a healing journey and that the life we once knew has now come to an end.

This is just the normal and quite natural cycle of life. Scorpios are often quite witchy and have a tremendous amount of sex appeal. And this card serves as a reminder to all Scorpios to embrace their exquisite power.

There is so much power you hold, and you have the ability to be exactly who you desire to be, you just need to put your mind to it. Remember, with every ending there is a new beginning, and that the end of a cycle is just the start of a new one.

Sagittarius: The Temperance Card

Sagittarius is the wild child of the Zodiac with a real penchant for spirituality and always seeking the truth. This sign has chosen a really special journey towards enlightenment and is always looking for the answers about what it means to be alive and part of the Universe.

And Temperance is the card that means finding peace and harmony after a moment of personal upheaval. This card comes up after experiencing excess and needing to take a moment to rest and find the stillness within –something that a Sagittarius can really struggle with at times.

The Temperance card serves more as a lesson to what the energy of Sagittarius needs to master, and that is knowing when to hold back and become still when giving in too much excess and indulgence and trust me, Sagittarians know all about taking things one step too far.

In relationships, this just means that you need someone who can help you center, but knows when to go on a journey with you. Temperance is all about knowing how important experience is, but also knowing when to sit back and reflect on what the experience taught you.

Capricorn: The Devil

Capricorn is one of the most fastidious and hard-working signs in the Zodiac, and there isn’t a lot a Capricorn wouldn’t do to get further in their life, especially in their career. The Devil card is very much aligned with this energy.

The Devil tarot card knows all about being fierce and giving in to savage nature and what it means to truly go after a carnal desire. Capricorn knows how to dream big, but also how to transmute these dreams into reality. Not something everyone knows how to do or master.

This card just reminds us that sometimes we need to give in to our desires and to experience the pleasures of what we want in life. The energy of The Devil and Capricorn says that it is okay to want to covet something, and that desire plays such an integral role in society.

It is really good to embrace your fantasies and not deny yourself the pleasures of what you truly want in life. Sometimes we have to be a little bit naughty and really enjoy our lives, even if it feels like we shouldn’t.

Aquarius: The Star

Aquarius is such a wonderful, community-driven sign. It is also the Zodiac archetype that cares deeply about living up to your hopes and dreams and how important it is to reach for the stars. So, it makes so much sense that The Star in the Tarot would be connected to Aquarius.

The Star is the card that gives us hope, that encourages us to keep on dreaming and imagining the beautiful life we so desire. It also lets us know that we shouldn’t give up and that all our dreams are well within our grasp.

Aquarian energy is really special, but so is The Star. It serves as a reminder that you are one-of-a-kind and that no one could ever replace you. There is really something special you are meant to do here on earth.

In a relationship, you need to be valued for your uniqueness and be with someone who is going to encourage you or help you to reach your dreams. You need someone who is supportive of your desires and lets you know how special you truly are.

Pisces: The Moon

Pisces is for sure one of the most emotional, yet intuitive signs in the Zodiac. This sign is all about listening to their gut and embracing their wonderful and abundant creativity. This sign is super dreamy and lives in quite a special fantasy world.

And all of these descriptions could be associated with The Moon Tarot card. The energy of this card and sign share is basically one and the same. When this card comes up in a reading it is often telling us to listen to our gut and stop overthinking a situation.

It tells us that we need to listen to our subconscious and really pay attention to our dreams because sometimes we can’t see reality as clearly as we think we can. And we all know how common this is in a relationship.

For love and relationships, this really shows how important it is to feel emotionally supported by your partner, to feel like you are with someone who can really hear you and see you for who you truly are.

You want to be with someone who can connect to your depth and is willing to look further than what is on the surface. Love is a rather emotional experience for you and you need to feel safe enough to be able to be your most vulnerable self.

Isn’t it fascinating to see how similar the Tarot Card meanings and archetypes of Astrology signs are quite similar? It just gives extra depth and insights into our journeys. It can be really helpful to tap into the card associated with your sign and really work with that energy.

The more you understand about yourself, the more you can understand the rest of the world and this makes it a lot easier for you to find yourself in a space that opens you up to love. And Tarot and Astrology are only tools to help you on the way.

  1. Hi Anna
Thank you for this insight. I do think I accept the man I love, at times in fact I do not actually stand up for myself enough.
I often try to be diplomatic even though I may feel hurt.
Lots of push pull. When he is hot and engaged it is magic. Then he distances. Libra.
Anyway, I super value all your input.
    Thanks Anna!!!

  2. I enjoy your thoughts, Anna! Although it becomes clear to me that the Star and the Moon are opposites of each other, so their relationship may not really succeed … I still hope…

  3. Thank you for your perspective! Still trying to figure out if I should pursue a relationship with my Aquarius man. Being a cancer, things can be difficult and frustrating. There’s such a strong connection…but a lot of complications.

    1. Hi Mchlle Acala,

Aquarius is one of the least emotional signs in the Zodiac. Aquarius is bound to reason and objectivity. This is not the case with Cancer. Cancer’s life is guided by their loyalty and consideration for the needs of those closest to them. Cancer follows their ‘gut feeling’ about a lot of things in life, which doesn’t sit well with Aquarius. Aquarius applies strict reason to most of their life and may become upset by Cancer’s less logical approach.

Aquarius is not without compassion. Aquarius just applies their compassion to causes and oftentimes to people (or animals) outside of their intimate circle. This can work for both Cancer and Aquarius, especially if they are both moved by the same cause. Cancer will work from a more personal and intimate level, and Aquarius will work on the big picture.

      Sending Love to you both!

  4. Thank you for being informative Anna I appreciate your posts so much, me and my potential partner are both Leos , I’m a July Leo he is an August Leo I still don’t get him 1 minute he is hot and the next minute he is cold but I love him so much and I hope he will come to the party I will never give up on him 😊

    1. Dear Babalwa,

Naturally when two of the same sign are mixed, there are bound to be striking similarities that feel comfortable and easy to accept. Two fire signs of course, create a bonfire of love and passion. Leo man with Leo woman soul mate match is definitely possible. You need to talk to each other and tell each other how you see this relationship going. You also need to open up and try new things so that things do not get stale. You have what it takes provided you really and truly open up to each other. Being hard headed or prideful will not help either of you. Hot and cold games are expected but will cease as the time goes by.
      Sending Love.
