The 2020s are feeling a lot like the early 2000s. So many trends from two decades ago seem to be coming back in fashion, from low cut jeans to Juicy Couture tracksuits, Lindsay Lohan is starring in a Netflix series and now one of our favorite couples from the early 2000s are rumored to be back together and thriving!
All is right in the world once again because Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have rekindled their love. This has me reeling from excitement, isn’t it amazing when two people who love each other get back together? Especially such a high-profile couple, who have circled around and have now found their way back to each other.
Gemini season has brought us a lot of excitement, especially Astrologically, with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all sitting pretty in the chatty sign of Gemini. Which is the perfect time to be super flirty, and expressive with your feelings!
And it has been reported that their fire was ignited again when Ben sent Jennifer a few steamy love letters right after her divorce with Alex Rodriguez. What more could we expect from precocious and communicative Gemini season?
So, what exactly triggered their union? Is there an Astrological reason for these two love birds coming back together? Of course there is, and I’m here to unpack exactly the magic behind why Bennifer is back and ready for round two!
How Strong Is Their Bond?
Incredibly strong! Both Jennifer and Ben are Leo Suns, and Leos are known for their immense passion and romance they feel in their relationships. They love to love, and be loved and when two Leos get together, it can only mean fireworks!
They tend to put their heart and their soul into their partnerships. This sign doesn’t do anything with half measures, they put it all on the table. When the two people in a couple share the same Sun sign like Jen and Ben, it means their connection is super strong.
They understand each other on such a deep level. The bond they share is almost unbreakable because they just get one another and have all the same motivations and drives in life. Leo is the sign that loves to be in the center of attention, to have the spotlight. It’s no wonder when these two get together they tend to draw a lot of hype around each other.
They share the same values, such as a focus on ambition, romance, expressing themselves creatively, and being center stage. Everything is in sync and just flows easily when a couple shares the same vision for their life.
Then there is Mercury, the planet of communication and thinking which both of them have in Leo, another connection they share. This just puts more fire to the flame. These two express themselves honestly and wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Mercury in Leo is direct, fun, proud, and attention grabbing. Having a good and strong Mercury connection is paramount to a happy relationship because Mercury is all about communication, which is pretty much the crux for any happy union.
But all this Leo energy could be the exact reason why this couple split in the first place. When they chose to delay their wedding in 2003, they both said it was because there was “excessive media attention surrounding their wedding.”
But Isn’t Attention All A Leo Needs?
Well, if only Astrology was as simple as Sun signs, am I right? Unfortunately, it is a little more complicated than that. And when we look at Jen and Ben’s shared Moon sign, we can see why all that attention might have crossed the line.
Sharing their Moon sign in Scorpio as well as their Sun and Mercury in Leo is extremely karmic. This is an Astrological triple whammy! These two are seriously connected and meant to walk a path together.
The Moon sign in Astrology is all about our emotional needs and how we express our feelings. The sign of Scorpio is super intense, passionate, mysterious, and emotional. This position isn’t particularly easy for the Moon to be in, so it is no wonder that there is such a strong connection between the two of them, that is because they understand one another like nobody else!
Sharing a Moon connection is intense. There is an intuitive knowledge they share with one another, which makes it easy for them both to meet their emotional needs together.
So, it makes sense that they would be attracted to one another. They can share the trials and tribulations of what it means to be famous. Yes, they may be Leos who love fame and adoration, but having a Scorpio moon means they are actually both very secretive, and want their true selves to be hidden from the public.
I bet that round two of Bennifer is going to be a lot more paired back, and the media coverage of their relationship will be shared on their own terms. These two have had the chance to mature and learn what their boundaries are and how to implement these boundaries in their lives.
What About Longevity In Their Relationship?
I’ve spoken about Saturn before. One of my favorite planets because it rules commitment and responsibility. Elements that are extremely important in a long-term relationship, and the interesting thing about Jen and Ben’s connection is that there is a very strong Venus and Saturn alignment in their relationship chart.
Jennifer has her Venus in Gemini at 19 degrees, the planet of love and romance. And Ben has his Saturn in Gemini at 18 degrees. This is a very tight and strong connection for them both. But for all the positive elements that come with Saturn, there are a couple of negatives as well.
Saturn is also synonymous with limitations, fears, and karma. It can often bring restrictions in our lives, especially if we need some growing up to do. And when there is a sign like Gemini involved, which has a very youthful, childlike and trickster energy to it, well then, a lot of friction can occur.
It’s possible that they were both just not ready and mature enough to handle the intensity and commitment of this relationship when they were younger and still getting to know themselves. I have a feeling that now with Saturn in Aquarius making a transiting trine to Jen’s Venus and Ben’s Saturn things might be looking up.
Especially considering that Saturn just went retrograde, and is likely going to bring up a lot of feelings from the past, and question what commitment means to both of them. They may have come to the realization that this connection has always been it for them, they just needed a lot of time apart to mature and come to this understanding.
So, What Has Sparked For Them To Get Back Together?
Well, there is a lot going on in the sky at the moment. There is Mercury which has just gone retrograde, which is synonymous with bringing exes out of the woodwork. Then there is Saturn, and it’s retrograde, which makes it the perfect time to take a closer look at our commitments and what we feel truly serious about.
But the planetary phenomenon that really stands out to me, is that we are in the middle of an Eclipse season which started on May 26 with a Lunar Eclipse and then culminating with a Solar Eclipse on June 10th. Eclipses are amazing life-changing events that bring on ah-ha moments and push us towards our karmic fate.
Eclipses aren’t uncommon events, they happen a couple of times each year, but what makes this Eclipse profound for Jen and Ben is that it’s part of a Metonic Cycle, which means it’s an individual set of Eclipses that repeat themselves every 19 years.
And guess what happened 19 years ago when the Eclipses occurred on the same Gemini and Sagittarius axis as in 2021? Well, that’s when Jennifer and Ben got together for the first time. And now, history is once again repeating itself.
What is even more astounding is that the Eclipses happened on the very same dates as they are this year, May 29 and June 10. How freaky! The timing of all of this might seem very fated, like the stars have definitely aligned in their favor.

What’s In Store For Bennifer?
No matter how you look at it, these two have reunited for a reason. It’s clear to see that they are bound to one another, and have a lot of strong karmic work to fulfill together. Their Astrology shows that they deeply love and respect one another, and that their sexual chemistry is incredibly steamy.
But, with all good relationships they also have some tough parts in their synastry chart that show a lot of challenges they need to overcome together in order to experience growth, not only together but as individuals as well.
Only time will tell what is in store for these two and if they are going to choose to make it a full-on commitment, but first they need to survive this Eclipse season as well as this Saturn retrograde.
All I can say is that both these elements in Astrology deal heavily with karma and purpose in our lives. It’s no mistake that these two have reunited in their connection, it’s definitely meant to be, but for how long only time will tell.
