Weekly Tarotscope For January 2nd – 8th

Hey there, lovely readers! Welcome back to the Weekly Tarotscope, this time for January 2nd through 8th. The upcoming transits aren’t for the faint of heart, but while they’re sure to be unexpected, it’s not a week I see most signs disliking.

So, pay attention and read on to find out what the general transits of the week mean.

Mercury goes retrograde in Capricorn this week, which can bring about a sense of confusion or fuzziness surrounding where your ‘place’ is in life or in a social structure of some kind.

You may desire to do more work but find yourself putting effort in misguided places without realizing it.

Venus also moves into Aquarius this week, which places our romantic and platonic focus on the themes of Aquarius. This tells me that overall, we’ll see ourselves craving independence, but not at the expense of intimacy.

This is a transit that can trigger a platonic relationship to become a romantic one or vice versa. The good thing about this transit (especially this week as Venus makes some beneficial alignments) is that we tend to genuinely want the best for others during this transit, and we tend to lose our ego needs and place the greater good above our selfish desires.

Venus in a sextile to Jupiter in Aries is an ideal period to try your luck at just about anything. New relationships, starting a conversation, investing in a new company or making an important purchase. Almost every social and personal choice you can make could be positively influenced by this transit.

Keep in mind, the sextile requires action on your part to reap the positive rewards. You’ll have to recognize opportunities for what they are in order to shoot your shot! Whatever choice you make, make it the one that makes you feel excited and light-hearted. This is the right decision.

The Sun forming a trine to Uranus is like a lightning bolt of inspiration and realization that comes from seemingly nowhere. It’s a blessing that is obvious, bold, and unexpected but most certainly welcome. Being flexible enough to make space for a sudden positive change will be the most challenging part.

Being open to new experiences and people will allow you to make the most of this transit.

The Sun conjuncts Mercury in Retrograde within the sign of Capricorn this week, which stimulates our minds and sheds light on flaws in our usual understanding and interpretation of events.

With Retrograde Mercury involved, expect to gain new insight into past events and encounters. This applies especially in Capricorn-type environments that require a lot of responsibility and skill.

Mercury forms a trine with Uranus shortly after the Sun does, which I’m expecting to shed a lot of light on past situations and our place within them in order to gain peace and fulfillment.

Venus forming a trine to Mars is a positive transit in most cases, which symbolizes a joining of the masculine and feminine. This transit in particular emphasizes action and movement as well as new beginnings.

Venus and Mars in a trine in the air signs opens space for mental connection as well as physical.

So, the real question you have come to know the answer to is, how can the Tarot help me to understand what all of the planetary transits mean for me?

The Tarot sheds light on the sometimes-foggy Astrology transits and makes them real while giving you a base for what real-life situations the transits apply to in your life.

Aries

Weekly Tarotscope for Aries: Death

Death always sounds like a scary card, but this card rarely ever means actual physical death. Instead, this card often represents an awareness of outdated cycles within your life. It could be that this week you decide to ‘kill’ a false version of yourself that you’ve metaphorically created.

With Uranus forming a trine to the Sun and Mercury this week, I expect that you’re being given a chance to retire an understanding that has long defined you and been your ‘calling card.’ It’s hard to release what we identify with, but when you no longer relate to that version of yourself then it’s okay to put it to bed.

Now, Capricorn lies in a cardinal house of action and initiation. This tells me that there is a clear opportunity for an accelerated ‘rebirth.’ With this in mind, lean into everything that feels authentically ‘you’ right now. Don’t ask how it will look, don’t hesitate, just head in the direction of the thing you love and you’ll end up in the best possible light, Aries.

Taurus

Weekly Tarotscope for Taurus: The Magician

How absolutely unsurprising this card is to me, Taurus! Uranus, the planet of change, chaos, disruption, and rebellion is within your sign. The imagery that those words evoke would fit quite well within a Magician’s description, don’t you think?

The Magician is an intermediary between two levels of energy. The Magician is a conduit or bridge between the divine and ethereal and the earthly. This means that you’re meant to find alignment between your spiritual and practical needs this week.

The Magician doesn’t choose one source of energy over the other. The Magician simply exists between states in order to accommodate the energy of both. He’s releasing judgment in order to meet the energy in the moment as it is.

This tells me that you are meant to hold back judgment of your own ideas this week. As the Sun and Mercury form trines to Uranus in your own sign, you’re being asked to release your personal labels for now and to simply be with the flow of energy between yourself, others, your environment, and higher vibrations.

Gemini

Weekly Tarotscope for Gemini: Three of Swords

Gemini, the Three of Swords is a card of intense pain and hurt. It could feel as if a partnership is unraveling right before your eyes. If you’ve done enough hard work together then there is hope for you both.

The Three of Swords is a card of loss and possibly regret. The feeling of being pushed until you can’t help but break down could arise.

However, I’d like to note that the Three of Swords can also feel like releasing hidden sadness that was pent up long before this week. I encourage you to lean into the heartache, shed lots of tears, and really appreciate how difficult things are.

Once you’ve properly purged your sadness then you can properly see your situation for what it is. The heavy emotional baggage you’re carrying could be coloring your perception of how dire the situation is. A deep release, no matter how painful, may be the best medicine.

Cancer

Weekly Tarotscope for Cancer: The Emperor

Cancer, the Emperor card indicates that you’ll be asked to step into your power and authority. The Emperor is a ruler but he recognizes his privileged status. He’s as powerful and respected as he is because he has empowered and respected those ‘beneath’ him.

The Emperor card tells me that you’ll be asked to find a level of authority within you without drawing from a source of fear. Taking control of your emotional narrative right now would be ideal.

Jupiter entering your house of legacy and authority tells me that because you’ve rewritten your narrative. You’re taking control of your life trajectory, and those around you support you and beg to assist your path.

Take confident action in the direction of your goals, Cancer. And accept help from those you’ve helped before.

Leo

Weekly Tarotscope for Leo: The Empress

The Empress is a card of creation. She’s the combination of the Magician and the High Priestess. Her connection with nature and the universal flow of energy are where her strength lies.

This tells me that you’re meant to go with your instincts and follow your joy this week. Even as you’re faced with potential challenges due to time crunches and communication breakdowns, you’re able to keep your cool.

The Empress is a close match to Leo’s energy, which means that being yourself is a major key to getting what you need this week. Address any stressful issues or unexpected blessings with a clear head to see them for what they are.

Virgo

Weekly Tarotscope for Virgo: Four of Swords

Virgo, have you been overextending your mental energy? Is an upcoming event or meeting weighing heavily on your mind? If so, the Four of Swords is your sign to take a deep breath and just chill out for a while.

If you’ve been overfocusing on someone or something in your life, this alignment is asking you to allow yourself a period of rest. There comes a point when thinking about an issue just isn’t helpful anymore.

Perhaps you think if you let down your mental guard then you’ll be exposed. But the Four of Swords tells me that you’ll be watched over. This is your time to rest and allow yourself a reprieve from the wheels turning in your mind.

Libra

Weekly Tarotscope for Libra: Eight of Swords

Libra, Mercury in Retrograde in Capricorn can kick up the dust on some old emotional issues that you weren’t ready to deal with. The Eight of Swords is an indicator that you’ve been ‘trapped’ but that you’ve been able to escape at any time.

Your emotional narrative seems to paint you as the victim, and perhaps you were. But there is a difference between being victimized and having a victim mentality, my Libra love.

Options to reframe the situation and its implications on your current life are around you. The narrative that has been built up around the past feels real, but I think that Uranus’ lucky trine to Mercury and the Sun this week will shatter the illusion and bring awareness to your personal power once more.

Scorpio

Weekly Tarotscope for Scorpio: Queen of Pentacles

The Queen of Pentacles is practical and precise. She knows what she needs to get by but also knows when it’s the right time to rejoice in all of the abundance that surrounds her.

The Queen of Pentacles was not born so blessed with money and love and resources. She attracted these things to her because of her connection to the flow of energy. She knows that because she puts out love and abundance that she receives love and abundance right back.

The Queen of Pentacles is linked to magic due to her ability to combine practical needs with a spiritual connection to the universal ebb and flow of energy. Take your lead from the Queen and live life like you already have what you want this week, Scorpio. Give love and blessings as freely as you’d like to receive them and watch how fast the Universe returns the favor.

Sagittarius

Weekly Tarotscope for Sagittarius: Knight of Wands

Sagittarius, the Knight of Wands tells me that your ruling planet moving forward in the sign of Aries sure is doing its thing within your life!

The Knight of Wands demands action and proactivity. The Knight asks you to make progress in the areas of life that excite you.

With Jupiter in Aries moving through your fifth house of romance, you can expect to feel filled with inspiration just as the Knight implies. The fifth house is indicative of where it’s easiest for us to express our love, and to whom.

Use this week to shoot your shot if you’re single or to fire up the engine in an established relationship.

Capricorn

Weekly Tarotscope for Capricorn: Five of Cups

Capricorn, the Five of Cups tells me that you could experience regret and disappointment in the upcoming week. Perhaps Mercury’s backward movement has brought up tender memories?

The Five of Cups indicates sadness or upset, but not one that is totally founded. You see, this card tells me that there are options other than the ones that aren’t going through, but your narrative will not make space for other outcomes.

Pessimism is a risk at this time. Be honest with yourself about how bad your situation really is. Are you really being open-minded to all options available to you, or are you choosing to wallow a little and ignore the good things?

Aquarius

Weekly Tarotscope for Aquarius: Page of Cups

Aquarius, the Page of Cups comes with a message or realization regarding a relationship or the source of emotion. There is likely to be a moment of surprise, as indicated by Uranus’ blinding movements this week.

The Page is a messenger and is highly mutable, which means that it’s important to stay emotionally engaged even through changing circumstances.

Even if there isn’t a straightforward wine and dine like many dates, there is a potential for a deeper and more authentic meeting between you and others. You’re more open this week than usual due to your ruler Uranus making some positive alignments.

Take advantage of this and see where this realization leads you.

Pisces

Weekly Tarotscope for Pisces: Nine of Pentacles

The Nine of Pentacles is a card of personal achievement. This is a realization of how hard you’ve worked for something and how much you really do deserve it.

Jupiter (your co-ruler) is in forward motion and in positive alignment to Venus. This tells me that financially and physically, you are acknowledging your success.

Your blessings that are on their way are a result of the fact that you focus more on the compassionate and empathetic side of life. This card is a reward for your spiritual alignment in some ways.

Wrapping Up

Whew! What a week. Uranus’s transits and Mercury’s Retrograde were clearly reflected in many of the cards. I’m anxious to see where you notice this energy manifesting in your experience.

The Tarot is so interesting, and we’re all such complex creatures. When I pull a single card like in these weekly Tarotscopes, it may highlight the most pressing situation of the week, but it is not all-encompassing.

That is why some signs receive a love reading and others don’t.

But, that is not to say that the Tarot has no insight into your relationship!

My friend and I have teamed up to provide you with this fabulous three-card love draw! My readers consistently report that their minds were blown wide open by the insight.

Until we meet again next week.

Wishing you all the luck in the Universe,

Anna Kovach
